June 2017 Goals

June 18, 2017

Since before I started the blog, I decided that I wanted to create goal posts once per month to (hopefully) keep me on track with what I’m doing and propel me to achieving my goals, so although it has been a while since June started, here are my goals for the month!

  • delete duplicates
  • mop-up

I started sorting out the music on my laptop about three years ago, but lost steam half way through so ended up with a mishmash of a lot of music that had been sorted through and a whole lot of music that I hadn’t sorted through. This year I decided that I was going to sort the rest out so hopefully by the end of the month I will be all set and sorted!

  • November 2015
  • December 2015
  • May 2017

Again, last year I started sorting out all of my media (photos and videos) I had taken over the past however many years. I really want to be all up-to-date by the end of the year so I set myself the task of working through 3 months’ worth each month.

PL cards

  • finish organising

For a while now I have been wanting to start scrapbooking and my first step in this journey was to download some digital Project Life cards for me to use. I went through a lot of blogs a while ago and downloaded the sets I liked but soon realised I couldn’t remember which cards I had on my laptop, or where they were stored, so I want to finish organising them this month.

  • You Are a Badass
  • Bared to You
  • Harry Potter #1

One of my goals for 2017 is to consume 49 books, which was finishing the book I was reading over the new year period, plus listen to 2 books per month and read 2 books per month, however this month I decided to challenge myself to listen to 3 books.

  • finish Night Circus
  • finish Ancestor

I haven’t been reading as much as I had wanted to lately, and instead of making myself feel bad by setting a goal that I couldn’t hit and then feeling down about it, I set myself a lower goal to finish the 2 books I have been reading and then read one more.

  • list ideas

An Etsy shop has been on my to-do list for the past year or so but at the moment I feel further away from making it a reality than I was when I first thought about it! Listing my ideas is the first step on the journey to opening up shop.

  • maintain gold on Duolingo for both languages
  • begin Spanish in 3 Months
  • begin French in 3 Months

Since I worked so hard to finish the French and Spanish Duolingo trees with all gold topics last month, I want to maintain my gold trees going forward, as well as making a bit of time to work through the French + Spanish in 3 month books that I bought an ashamedly long time ago and haven’t yet finished.

  • progress/finish my mum’s
  • sort out my nan’s

Without giving away too much (hey, it is a present for my mum!) I want to finish working on something I have had in the pipeline since last July, as well as get the wheels moving for another gift for my grandparents.

  • crochet 30 lines

I will be writing a blog post in a few days/weeks about my current crochet project, but in the meantime I’ll tell you that I am working on making a pretty huge blanket, crocheting one line per day, but I am a bit behind at the moment so I want to crochet 30 rows by the end of the month.

  • plan!

I had originally thought CampNaNo (a writing challenge that encourages you to set a word goal and write until you hit that goal) started this month so I was ecstatic when I found out it was actually a July challenge – I hadn’t planned anything! So I want to use this extra month to be in a good position to be able to hit my 30k word goal next month.

  • walk 300,000 steps

We have a health/active challenge at work and I think I’m perhaps one of – if not the – weakest member on the team. My current daily step average is just below 9,000, whereas the step average for the team is at 11,000. I don’t want to be the weak link of the team so I’m determined to try and hit 300,000 steps for the month (so an average of 10,000 per day). It won’t bring my average above the team average, but I’ll definitely feel better about it!

Blog/social media

  • post daily to Instagram
  • comment on 10 x blogs per week
  • follow 5 x blogs per week

I really want to try and spread the love on social media by connecting with other bloggers, especially those without many followers/just starting out in their journey and I thought following/commenting on other blogs would help me do this.

Have you got any goals for the month? How well are you doing with them?
